Optional tasks testers can skip
Not every task needs an answer from every tester. You can now mark a task as optional, and testers get a Skip control on it, both in the task list and inside the task itself. Skipping behaves just like skipping an optional step: the tester moves on without answering, and the task counts as done instead of sitting unfinished in their list.
Viewers can now see the beta itself, not just its results
The viewer role has always given stakeholders read-only access to tickets and results. What it could not show was the beta behind those results: what you actually asked testers to do.
That gap is now closed. Viewers can list your published betas, open the Tasks tab to read the tasks you set up, and open survey steps in read-only form. The role's rules are unchanged, so everything stays strictly observational: no editing controls, no way to alter what they are looking at.
See and fix tester email subscription status
When a tester stops receiving your emails, you can now see why. Their current subscription status is shown in their profile info, so an unsubscribe is visible instead of silent. Unsubscribing is easy to do by accident, often through a mail app's built-in unsubscribe button, and until now it left no trace on your side.
Restoring delivery stays with the person who opted out, since consent has to come from them. To make that painless, a Resubscribe button now appears at the top of their own preferences page whenever they are unsubscribed, so it takes two clicks and no support ticket.

More granular email notification preferences
Your notification preferences page gained five new toggles, giving you per-topic control over what reaches your inbox: Mentions in tickets, Beta announcements, Project status updates, Beta reminders, and Survey responses digest. All are on by default.
Mentions get their own switch on purpose. Being mentioned by name is a deliberate request for your attention, so you can keep mentions flowing even after turning off the general per-message emails.
Target triggered emails at a person custom field
Triggered emails can now use a person custom field as their main audience. If you track an owner or a contact on your tester records, the email goes straight to that person rather than to the whole manager list, so each tester's email reaches their own owner. Person fields could already be used to copy someone in; now they can be the primary recipient too, as long as that person is a manager in your workspace.
Triggered emails also now fire only on genuinely new answers, so updating existing data no longer sets off a round of unexpected emails.
Review the changes before you revert them
Editing a published beta builds up a set of unpublished changes, and reverting used to be an act of faith. Now, reverting opens a confirmation dialog listing exactly what will be discarded, step by step and task by task, so you can see the cost of the revert before you commit to it.
Microsoft Office file support
Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files are now accepted as uploads, in both the modern (.docx, .xlsx, .pptx) and legacy (.doc, .xls, .ppt) formats, alongside the images, video, PDF, and archive types Stomio already supported. Testers sharing a spreadsheet of results or a slide deck no longer need to convert it first.
Improvements
- Larger custom workspace logos. The size limit for workspace logos went up, so higher resolution brand assets upload cleanly instead of being rejected.
Fixes
- Yes/No steps in AI generated betas now come out correctly configured.
- Managers who are also testers on a beta can now remove their own tester entry from the testers table.
- Applicants table column order now survives navigation, including custom orderings you set yourself.
- Inline code formatting in the rich text editor now applies and clears reliably.
- PDF previews render again on the NDA page.
- The user profile modal no longer shows details from a previously opened profile while the current one is still loading.
