v1.4 — Release

Jun 23, 20223 min read

Stomio v1.4 is released! This release packs a lot of new features and improvements to make life easier for managers

New Features

We are very excited to share new capabilities now available on the platform based on early feedback from our users.

(1) Admin Settings

There is a set of capabilities that are inherently Admin only. So we added a new role in a workspace: Admin. Admins can change workspace settings, change roles for their teammates from Admin to Manager (or the opposite), enable tags for their workspace, and enable future integrations.

(2) File Upload as a Feedback Step

Do you want your testers to upload a picture or a video of their beta environment or installation? now you can ask them to do just that with file upload as a feedback step!

(3) New home screen organization

When you log in to your home screen, you’ll notice a new organized view of your betas by their status: your active betas are grouped together so you can focus on them, your draft betas are grouped next so you can quickly access them. Want to access your archived betas? they are one click away

(4) Quick actions

Running a large scale beta program can be overwhelming. With quick actions, you’ll see the top 3 actions you need to focus on for your beta program so you can get back to your busy schedule as quickly as possible

Improvements

We keep improving the user experience on existing features and capabilities for the platform. We monitor our user behavior religiously so we can keep improving the experience and reduce friction for everyone. This release carries a ton of improvements requested by our early adopters

(1) Testers can reply to announcements in email

After overhauling announcements in the last release, we added the ability for a tester to reply to an announcement via email. The response is captured in a question type ticket so the manager and tester can continue the conversation naturally and organically.

(2) Managers can attach files to announcements

Adding more to announcements, managers can now add files, pictures, videos to their announcements so testers can quickly access those resources.

(3) Email detection when adding users

We improved the way we detect an email when adding multiple users (managers or testers) to your workspace

(4) Tracking NDA agreements per beta

We introduced NDA agreements in the last release. In this release, we added the ability to track which tester accepted their NDA agreement by adding a column in the beta tester table with a timestamp of when they accepted their beta.

(5) Mandatory/Optional steps

All steps are mandatory by default. You can mark a step as optional when creating the tester flow.

(6) Deleting a ticket

Managers can delete a ticket to clean up their ticket list.

(7) Filter tickets by assignee

We added assigning tickets to other team members in your beta in last release. Now we added a filter in Comms so you can quickly see tickets assigned to you

(8) “Other” in single choice steps

When creating a single choice feedback step, we added the option to add “Other” so testers can type in their response that is not part of the list you provided

Bug Fixes

We had a big QA sprint and fixed a number of bugs found in our automation and manual testing. We also fixed below bugs reported by our early adopters. Thanks for making our product better!

(1) Fixed a bug where filtering by ticket type when a beta is selected doesn’t work

(2) Fixed user table in mobile

(3) Fixed a bug where a ticket is not created due to email notification issue

(4) Fixed a bug where a tester can’t upload an attachment when replying to an announcement

And many more…
