At Stomio, your security is top priority. We're excited to announce the rollout of Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA). Whether you're logging in with a regular username and password or through Google Login, you can now enhance the security of your Stomio account using any authenticator app such as Google Authenticator. This added layer of security ensures that your account remains safe and secure, even if your password is compromised!
What is Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)?
Multi-Factor Authentication is a security process that requires two separate forms of identification before granting access to an account. Typically, these forms of identification include something you know (your password) and something you have (a code from an authenticator app).
Advantages of Using MFA
Implementing MFA on your Stomio account provides numerous benefits:
- Enhanced Security: Adding a second layer of security makes it significantly harder for unauthorized users to access your account.
- Be in compliance: Many security certifications such as Soc 2 require that tools used by enterprises have MFA enabled.
- Protection Against Phishing: Even if your password is stolen through phishing, the attacker would still need your MFA code to gain access.
- Increased Confidence: Knowing that your account is secured by MFA gives you peace of mind.
How to Set Up MFA on Your Stomio Account
Setting up MFA on your Stomio account is simple and straightforward. Follow these steps to enhance your account security:
- Download an Authenticator App: download an authenticator app such as Google Authenticator on your mobile device.
- Log in to Your Stomio Account: available for regular username/password or Google Login but not for Okta enabled accounts.
- Navigate to Security Settings: Go to your profile preferences, the security section of your account.

- Enable Multi-Factor Authentication: Click the MFA enabled toggle.
- Scan the QR Code: Use the authenticator app to scan the QR code displayed.

- Enter the Verification Code: Enter the verification code generated by the authenticator app to complete the setup.
