The Stomio integration for Slack is all set to keep your team in the loop with real-time notifications about tester activities. You can forget about constantly hitting that refresh button and instead get notified immediately when important updates happen.
So why Slack? Well, we love Slack, but love alone is not enough. The fact is, many of our customers use Slack as their main internal communication tool and they asked us to make it possible to get notified via Slack. They want to know when a new tester accepted the invitation, opened a ticket or completed a task.
Let's dive into the details of how this integration will work wonders for your team!
In order to be able to install Stomio integration for Slack, you need to have an Admin account in Stomio. First, login into your Stomio account, then go to the Space tab then click on Integrations, you will see a list of available integrations for your workspace (the list varies depending on the price plan of the workspace, for example, Okta integration will be only visible for enterprise plans)
Go to Slack and hit Connect, that will trigger the Oauth2 consent flow, where you will be prompted to give Stomio the required permissions for it work properly.
After the flow finishes correctly then Slack integration is installed correctly. If it fails you probably don’t have the required Slack permissions and you need to contact your IT administrator.
Configure Slack Integration
After successfully installing Slack you will be redirected to the Slack setup page in Stomio. Alternatively, you can access the configuration page under the integrations tab. Then click on setup
The setup page is split into two sections, the Beta Links and Notifications sections, the first allows you to map your Beta Projects to corresponding Slack channels, while the second, allows you to control how frequently you get notified.
Few things to take into consideration here:
The list of Beta you can see depends on your account type, a workspace Admin, will be able to list all active Beta Projects and configure them, while a regular manager can only see the programs they are participating in.
In order to remove one mapping, all you have to do is to reset the Slack channel field and leave it empty.
One Slack Channel can be used to receive notifications from multiple programs.
The notification frequency can be changed by selecting between:
Instant: which means receive the notification immediately on tester’s action.
Daily: which means you will receive a daily digest of all activities of the previous day.
Weekly: which will send a weekly digest of all tester activities of the previous week.
On Slack side, the notifications contain a summary about the event and links to the corresponding page in Stomio, so managers can follow up or take actions when necessary

Uninstall Slack integration
Uninstalling the integration is an easy task and just as installing you need to be an Admin in Stomio. Similar to the installation flow, go to the integrations section under the Space tab and click uninstall, then confirm the operation in the confirmation pop-up.
Now that you have learned about our Slack integration, you may be interested in boosting your tester’s experience by easily creating Zoom Meetings or adding your development team to the loop through Jira integration.
